James Rudick, MD
First off, I am honored to join you for a brief presentation of my photography, especially
since I have no formal photographic training, nor am I expert in any facet of
photography, as many of you certainly are.
What I have to offer, perhaps, is rampant curiosity, and brazen attempts to sample the
world through the camera lens, without regard to precedent, technique, or “rules”.
I am now 74, and have been in love with the camera for half a century. I spent too many
lonely hours in the darkroom, but quickly welcomed the digital revolution, never looking
back.
The universe is enormous, and also infinitesimally small. Our eyes, unaided, miss most
of the splendor. What I try to accomplish is to broaden our vision, just a little.
So I’ve taken the camera all over the world, under the sea, in the air, and into outer space
filming in color, black and white, stereo, 360, and infrared, time-lapse and slow motion,
sometimes with the help of a Celestron telescope or a DJI drone. Nothing off-limits, and
just for fun.
